WHAT IS LAMELLA CLARIFIER
A Lamella Clarifier (also called inclined plate clarifier) is a high-efficiency sedimentation device for solid-liquid separation in water and wastewater treatment. It adopts densely arranged inclined plates inside the tank, which greatly increases the effective sedimentation area under the same volume, shortens the settling distance of suspended solids, and improves sedimentation efficiency and treatment capacity, which is more efficient than traditional sedimentation tanks.
HOW DOES LAMELLA CLARIFIER WORKS
Based on the shallow sedimentation principle, its working process is simple and efficient:
- Raw water enters the tank and mixes with flocculants to form larger suspended particles;
- Water flows upward through the inclined plates, and suspended solids settle rapidly on the plate surfaces due to gravity;
- Settled solids slide down the inclined plates into the bottom sludge hopper for regular discharge;
- Clarified water overflows from the top of the tank, meeting the required discharge or reuse standards.
