How does a decanter centrifuge work?

A decanter centrifuge operates on a simple yet powerful principle: high-speed centrifugal force. The slurry is fed into a rapidly rotating horizontal bowl. The high G-force causes denser solids to settle against the bowl wall. A precisely calibrated helical screw conveyor, rotating at a slightly different speed, continuously scrolls the settled solids toward the conical end for discharge, while the clarified liquid flows over an adjustable weir plate. This continuous feed, separation, and discharge process ensures non-stop operation with remarkable consistency.
