Automatic Self-Cleaning Filter – Continuous, Maintenance-Free Filtration for Demanding Industrial Applications
In many industrial processes, continuous filtration is essential. Shutting down the system to change or clean filters is simply not an option. Cooling water systems, process water loops, and irrigation systems must run without interruption. Manual cleaning of strainers and filters is labor-intensive, inconsistent, and can introduce human error.
The DAGYEE Automatic Self-Cleaning Filter solves these challenges. It provides continuous filtration without operator intervention. When the filter screen becomes loaded with contaminants, the system automatically initiates a cleaning cycle—without interrupting the flow. The cleaning cycle removes accumulated debris, which is flushed to drain, and the filter returns to normal operation.
This filter is ideal for applications where maintenance access is difficult, where systems must run 24/7, and where consistent filtration performance is critical. Its robust stainless steel construction and reliable cleaning mechanism provide years of trouble-free service in demanding industrial environments.
How the System Works
The self-cleaning filter operates continuously, with automatic cleaning cycles triggered when needed.
The Filtration Process
Step 1: Liquid Entry
The unfiltered liquid enters the filter housing through the inlet port. The flow is directed through the filter screen or wedge wire element.
Step 2: Filtration
As the liquid passes through the filter element, suspended solids and particles are trapped on the inside surface of the screen. The filtered liquid exits through the outlet port.
Step 3: Contaminant Accumulation
Over time, contaminants accumulate on the screen surface. The differential pressure across the filter gradually increases as the screen loads.
Step 4: Cleaning Initiation
When the differential pressure reaches a preset setpoint (typically 0.1 to 0.2 MPa), the automatic cleaning cycle is initiated by the PLC controller. Alternatively, the cleaning cycle can be timed.
Step 5: Cleaning Cycle
A cleaning mechanism (typically a scraping or backwashing system) removes the accumulated contaminants from the screen surface. The debris is flushed from the filter through the flush valve and discharge connection.
Step 6: Return to Filtration
After the cleaning cycle is complete, the flush valve closes, and the filter returns to normal filtration mode. The entire cleaning process takes seconds and does not interrupt the main flow.
The entire cycle is automatic—no operator intervention is required.
