Description
lamella clarifier for Industrial Wastewater – Heavy-Duty Solids Removal for Manufacturing & Chemical Plants
WHAT IS LAMELLA CLARIFIER
Circular clarifiers are widely used in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. They are robust, reliable, and have been the industry standard for decades. However, as treatment requirements become more stringent and loads increase, these round clarifiers often struggle to keep up. Effluent quality deteriorates, sludge thickening is poor, and capacity is limited.
Building new clarifiers is expensive and time-consuming. Many plants simply do not have the space or budget for new construction.
The DAGYEE Circular Lamella Clarifier provides a practical solution. By installing a specially designed Lamella Plate pack inside an existing circular clarifier, the effective settling area is significantly increased without major structural changes. The circular design is optimized for the radial flow pattern of round tanks, ensuring even distribution and maximum performance. This upgrade is cost-effective, fast to implement, and delivers immediate improvement in effluent quality and sludge thickening.
HOW DOES LAMELLA CLARIFIER WORKS

Step 1: Feed Flow Distribution
Wastewater enters the circular clarifier from the center or perimeter, depending on the design. The feed flow is distributed radially across the tank.
Step 2: Radial Flow Through Plates
The water flows radially outward (or inward) through the circular lamella plate pack. The plates are arranged in a radial pattern from the center to the perimeter of the clarifier.
Step 3: Solids Settling
As water flows through the plate pack, suspended solids settle onto the plate surfaces. The plates are inclined at 55-60° to the horizontal, allowing settled solids to slide down under gravity.
Step 4: Sludge Collection
Settled solids slide to the bottom of the clarifier, where conventional sludge collection equipment (rake or scraper) removes them.
Step 5: Clarified Effluent
The clarified water flows upward through the plates and overflows into collection launders, ready for discharge or further treatment.
Step 6: Thickened Sludge
The counter-current flow in the plate pack produces a denser sludge than conventional circular clarifiers, reducing sludge volume for disposal.
