Decanter centrifuge description
A decanter centrifuge for food and beverage processing is a specialized machine designed to separate solids from liquids, or to separate two immiscible liquids, in food and beverage applications. It works by spinning the feed mixture at high speed, creating centrifugal forces that separate components of different densities . This is essential for producing clear juices, high-quality oils, stable wines, and pure starches.
The DAGYEE food-grade decanter centrifuge features SS316L construction, sanitary design, and CIP (clean-in-place) compatibility, ensuring it meets the hygiene standards required for food production. The machine operates continuously, automatically, and gently, preserving the quality and integrity of the product while achieving high separation efficiency.
From olive oil and fruit juice to wine and starch production, DAGYEE decanters deliver consistent, reliable separation that helps processors produce high-purity products with maximum yield.

How does a decanter centrifuge work?
The Process Flow:
Step 1: Feed Entry
The food product enters the centrifuge through a stationary feed pipe, passing through the hollow shaft of the screw conveyor into the distribution chamber within the bowl.
Step 2: Centrifugal Separation
The rotating bowl generates centrifugal forces that separate components by density. The denser solid particles are thrown outward against the bowl wall, while the lighter liquid phase moves toward the center.
Step 3: Gentle Solids Conveying
The screw conveyor rotates at a slightly different speed, gently "ploughing" the settled solids along the bowl wall and pushing them up the conical beach section.
Step 4: Liquid Discharge
The clarified liquid overflows adjustable dam plates at the large-diameter end of the bowl. The liquid level can be adjusted to optimize separation performance for different products.
Step 5: Solids Discharge
The dewatered solids discharge through the solids outlet at the conical end. The discharge is continuous and automatic.
Step 6: CIP Cleaning
The decanter is designed for CIP cleaning. Cleaning agents are circulated through the machine without disassembly, ensuring sanitary operation and minimizing downtime between product changes.

Decanter centrifuge key features
High Separation Efficiency
The combination of high rotational speed and large L/D ratio provides strong centrifugal forces and extended residence time, achieving high solids recovery and low cake moisture.
Dual Motor with VFD Drive
The system uses two motors with variable frequency drives—one for the bowl and one for the screw conveyor. This allows independent control of bowl speed and differential speed for process optimization. Common DC bus technology enables energy recovery, reducing power consumption.
Adjustable Liquid Level
The pond depth can be adjusted by changing dam plates or using PowerTubes, allowing fine-tuning for different feed conditions and separation requirements.

Wear Protection
Critical areas such as the screw conveyor flights, feed distribution zone, and solids discharge port are protected with tungsten carbide hardfacing, wear-resistant ceramic inserts, or spray welding. This extends service life significantly, especially when processing abrasive materials.
Corrosion-Resistant Construction
All process-wetted parts are made from high-grade stainless steel (SS304, SS316L, or duplex) to resist corrosion and maintain product purity.
Enclosed, Odor-Free Operation
The decanter operates with a fully enclosed casing, preventing fugitive emissions, containing odors, and eliminating splashing—essential for wastewater treatment plants and food processing facilities.
PLC Control & Remote Monitoring
The system includes a PLC control panel with HMI touch screen for automated operation, real-time monitoring, alarm management, and remote SCADA connectivity.
