How does a decanter centrifuge work?

A decanter centrifuge operates on the principle of sedimentation and high-speed centrifugal force.
-
High-Speed Rotation: The bowl rotates at high speed, generating centrifugal force up to 3000-4000 G.
-
Sedimentation: Solid particles, being denser, settle against the bowl wall.
-
Differential Speed: The internal screw conveyor (scroll) rotates at a slightly different speed, pushing the settled solids towards the conical end for discharge.
-
Liquid Discharge: The clarified liquid overflows from the opposite end via adjustable weir plates.
This continuous process ensures uninterrupted operation and high throughput.
