Description
High-Flow lamella clarifier – Heavy-Duty Sedimentation for Large-Scale Water & Wastewater Treatment
WHAT IS LAMELLA CLARIFIER
Large-scale water and wastewater treatment facilities face unique challenges. Flow rates are measured in thousands of cubic metres per hour. Solids loads are high and often variable. Space is limited. Downtime is not an option. Conventional clarifiers struggle to keep up—they require enormous basins, extensive civil works, and frequent maintenance.
The DAGYEE High-Flow Lamella Clarifier is engineered for these demanding conditions. Built with heavy-duty construction, oversized plate packs, and robust sludge handling systems, it delivers reliable sedimentation performance at flow rates up to 2000 m³/h. This is not a scaled-up standard clarifier; it is a purpose-built system designed for continuous, high-volume operation in the toughest industrial and municipal applications.
Whether you are treating raw water for a major city, clarifying process water for a mining operation, or handling cooling tower blowdown from a power plant, this system provides the capacity, reliability, and efficiency you need—all within a footprint that is a fraction of a conventional clarifier.
HOW DOES LAMELLA CLARIFIER WORKS

The operating principle is the same as standard lamella clarification, but scaled and optimized for high-volume service.
Enhanced Settling Area
Each high-flow unit contains multiple plate packs arranged in parallel. The total effective settling area is the sum of the horizontal projections of all plates across all packs. This arrangement provides enormous settling capacity within a relatively small footprint.
Optimized Flow Distribution
Uniform distribution of flow across the entire plate pack is critical for high-flow operation. The system incorporates a carefully engineered feed distribution system that ensures even flow to all plate channels, preventing short-circuiting and maximizing settling efficiency.
Heavy-Duty Solids Handling
The sludge hoppers are oversized and designed for continuous, high-volume solids removal. Sludge discharge systems can be configured for either intermittent or continuous operation, depending on the application and solids loading.
Advanced Sludge Thickening
The counter-current flow design promotes sludge thickening, producing a dense, concentrated sludge that reduces disposal volumes and simplifies downstream handling.
The Process Flow
Step 1: Influent Distribution
Feed water enters the clarifier through a distribution manifold that directs flow evenly to multiple plate packs. Flocculated feed is preferred for maximum efficiency.
Step 2: Upward Flow Through Plate Packs
The water rises through the inclined plate packs. The high effective settling area allows particles to settle even under high hydraulic loading rates.
Step 3: Solids Collection
Settled solids slide down the plates and into the collection hoppers. The steep hopper angles prevent bridging and ensure consistent discharge.
Step 4: Clarified Effluent
Clarified water overflows from the top of the plate packs into collection launders, ready for downstream treatment or discharge.
Step 5: Sludge Discharge
Thickened sludge is removed via automated valves or pumps, with discharge cycles controlled by timers or sludge level sensors.
