How belt filter presses work

Chemical Conditioning & Gravity Drainage: Sludge is mixed with flocculants, and free water is rapidly separated by gravity on a coarse mesh belt.

Wedge Pre-Pressing Zone: The sludge is gently compressed in a gradually narrowing wedge zone, forming a uniform layer and releasing more water.
