    WHAT IS LAMELLA CLARIFIER

    Construction sites, land development projects, and urban stormwater systems face a common challenge: sediment-laden runoff that must be treated before discharge. Rain events wash soil, sand, and debris into drains and waterways. Excavation dewatering pumps out turbid water containing fine silts and clays. Regulatory permits strictly limit turbidity and total suspended solids in discharged water. Failure to comply can result in fines, project delays, and environmental damage.

    The DAGYEE Lamella Clarifier for Stormwater & Construction Runoff provides a practical, cost-effective solution for sediment removal. Unlike large settling ponds that require significant land area, this compact clarifier removes suspended solids quickly and efficiently in a small footprint.     HOW DOES LAMELLA CLARIFIER WORKS

    The lamella clarifier is specifically well-suited for stormwater and runoff applications due to its ability to handle variable flows and high solids loading while maintaining a compact footprint.

    The Process Flow

    Step 1: Runoff Collection and Pumping
    Stormwater or dewatering water is collected and pumped to the clarifier. A coarse screen removes large debris, trash, and vegetation that could damage the plate pack.

    Step 2: Optional Flocculation
    For fine silts and clays that do not settle quickly, an optional flocculation system injects polymer to form larger, heavier flocs. This dramatically improves clarity and can be adjusted based on site conditions.

    Step 3: Lamella Clarification
    The water enters the clarifier and flows upward through the inclined plate pack. The large effective settling area captures particles efficiently – even during high-flow storm events. Solids settle onto the plates and slide to the sludge hopper.

    Step 4: Clear Discharge
    Clarified water overflows from the top of the clarifier and is discharged to the receiving water, storm drain, or infiltration system – meeting permit requirements.

    Step 5: Sludge Accumulation
    Sediment accumulates in the sludge hopper and is discharged periodically via a manual valve or automated system. The concentrated sludge volume is far smaller than the original runoff volume, reducing disposal costs.
