    DAGYEE Multi-Disc Screw Press – Sludge Dewatering for Food Processing & Beverage Industry


    Product Overview


    This is a multi-disc screw press specifically designed for sludge dewatering in the food processing and beverage industry. It handles the unique challenges of food industry sludges—high fat, oil, and grease (FOG) content, fibrous materials, proteins, and organic solids. The self-cleaning disc design prevents clogging even with sticky, fatty sludges that would blind conventional dewatering equipment.

    The system operates continuously and automatically. Sludge is fed into the screw press, where a low-speed screw (2-5 RPM) pushes it through a gradually narrowing chamber. Water is squeezed out through gaps between fixed and moving discs, and the dewatered cake exits with 15-22% dry solids content, reducing sludge volume by up to 80-90%.

    Food processing plants—dairy, meat, poultry, brewery, vegetable, and fruit processing—generate large volumes of high-strength wastewater with significant solids and FOG content. The DAGYEE screw press provides a cost-effective solution for reducing sludge volume, lowering disposal costs, and meeting environmental compliance requirements.


    Working Principle


    Step 1: Sludge Conditioning
    Food processing sludge is pumped from a holding tank or DAF unit into a flocculation mixing tank. Polymer flocculant is added to condition the sludge, binding fine particles and FOG into larger, more stable flocs.

    Step 2: Gravity Thickening
    The conditioned sludge flows into the thickening zone of the screw press. Free water drains through the gaps between discs under gravity. The self-cleaning disc movement prevents FOG and fibrous materials from building up on the discs.

    Step 3: Mechanical Compression
    As the screw rotates, the sludge is pushed along the tapered shaft. The volume available to the sludge gradually decreases, creating a gentle pressing action that extracts water without damaging the flocs or shearing the solids.

    Step 4: Water Discharge
    Water is forced out through the gaps between discs. The filtrate is returned to the treatment plant or discharged.

    Step 5: Cake Discharge
    The dewatered cake exits through the discharge opening. Food processing sludges typically achieve 15-22% dry solids, depending on the sludge type.

    Step 6: Continuous Self-Cleaning
    The relative movement between fixed and moving discs creates a continuous self-cleaning action that prevents FOG and fibrous material from building up on the discs. This is critical for food processing applications.

    Brewery wastewater contains spent grains, yeast, and organic solids. The screw press dewaters biological sludge and DAF float. Handles fibrous materials without blinding. Produces a stable cake with 15-20% dry solids.

    Vegetable and Fruit Processing
    Vegetable and fruit processing generates fibrous sludge from peeling, cutting, and washing operations. The screw press handles fibrous materials effectively. Dewaters wash water solids and DAF float. Reduces volume for disposal.

    Edible Oil Processing
    Oil processing wastewater contains fats and organic solids. The screw press dewaters DAF float and biological sludge. Self-cleaning design handles oily sludges without blinding.
