    WHAT IS LAMELLA CLARIFIER


    Manufacturing and chemical plants generate complex wastewater streams containing suspended solids, heavy metals, oils, and chemical precipitates. Each industry has its own challenges—metal finishing wastewater contains toxic metals, food processing effluent carries high organic loads, and chemical plant discharge can be acidic or alkaline with variable compositions.     HOW DOES LAMELLA CLARIFIER WORKS

    Step 1: Influent Entry
    Wastewater enters the clarifier through a feed distribution system. Depending on the application, the feed may have been pre-treated with coagulants, flocculants, or pH adjustment chemicals to optimize solids removal.

    Step 2: Upward Flow Through Plate Pack
    The water rises between the inclined plates. As it rises, suspended solids settle onto the plate surfaces. The angle of the plates allows settled solids to slide down under gravity, keeping the plates clean and functioning efficiently.

    Step 3: Clarified Effluent
    The clarified water overflows into collection launders and is discharged for further treatment or final disposal. The effluent quality is consistent, meeting stringent discharge limits.

    Step 4: Sludge Collection
    Settled solids accumulate in the sludge hopper at the bottom of the unit. The sludge is concentrated and can be discharged manually or automatically for further dewatering or disposal.

    Chemical Compatibility
    The system can be constructed from materials compatible with the specific industrial wastewater chemistry, including stainless steel grades, coated carbon steel, and engineered plastics for highly corrosive streams.
