Description
DAGYEE Chemical-Resistant Rotary Drum Screen: Engineered for Demanding Process Environments

Externally rotary fed drum screen description
The chemical processing industry presents some of the most challenging conditions for wastewater screening equipment, with variables including extreme pH levels, high temperatures, corrosive chemicals, and abrasive particulates. The DAGYEE Chemical-Resistant Rotary Drum Screen is specifically engineered to thrive in these demanding environments. Beyond standard wastewater treatment, this system is designed for process water filtration, catalyst recovery, byproduct separation, and other critical chemical manufacturing applications where equipment failure can mean costly production interruptions and environmental compliance issues.
Externally rotary fed drum screen principle
-
External Feed: The untreated wastewater flows by gravity or is pumped onto the upper exterior surface of the slowly rotating drum.
-
Screening & Filtration: As the drum rotates, the liquid passes through the screen panels (with aperture sizes typically ranging from 0.25mm to 3mm), while suspended solids are retained on the outside surface of the drum.
-
Automatic Cleaning: A bank of high-pressure spray nozzles, installed inside the drum at the top, continuously blasts the interior of the screen panels. This creates a reverse flow that dislodges trapped solids, ensuring uninterrupted operation and preventing screen blinding.
-
Discharge & Effluent: The cleaned solids are washed into a integrated collection hopper for disposal or further processing. The filtered effluent collects inside the drum and discharges from one or both ends.

Externally rotary fed drum screen advantage
-
The external feed design allows for a large effective screening area to handle peak flows and heavy solids loads with high removal efficiency.
-
The internal high-pressure self-cleaning system ensures continuous, unattended operation, minimizing downtime and maintenance labor.
-
Constructed primarily from grade 304 or 316 stainless steel for all wetted parts, ensuring exceptional corrosion resistance and long service life in harsh environments.
-
Available in various drum diameters, lengths, screen aperture sizes, and construction materials to meet exact application specifications.
-
Energy-efficient drive system and efficient cleaning reduce water and power consumption compared to other screening technologies.
-
By removing fine solids at the headworks, it significantly reduces the load on downstream processes like biological treatment, clarifiers, and membranes, lowering overall plant operational costs.
