    How belt filter presses work




    1. Chemical Conditioning: The slurry is precisely mixed with flocculants to form firm flocs ideal for dewatering.

    2. Gravity Drainage: The flocculated slurry is spread on a coarse mesh belt, allowing a significant amount of free water to rapidly separate by gravity.

    3. Wedge Pre-Pressing: The slurry enters the wedge zone, where gentle linear pressure is applied to release more water and form a stable sludge mat.

    4. High-Pressure Shear Dewatering: The sludge mat is subjected to progressively increasing shear and compression forces between "S"-shaped press rollers, removing capillary water to form a firm filter cake.
