    Description

    Bag Filter Housing – High Dirt-Holding Capacity for High-Solids & High-Flow Applications

When your filtration application involves high solids loading, large particle sizes, or high flow rates, standard cartridge filters simply don't cut it. They clog too quickly, require frequent change-outs, and drive up operating costs. You need a filtration solution that can handle the load without constant maintenance interruptions.

The DAGYEE Bag Filter Housing is designed for exactly these demanding conditions. Instead of small-surface-area cartridges, it uses large filter bags with significantly higher dirt-holding capacity. A single bag filter can hold several times more contaminants than a cartridge filter before needing replacement.

This housing is engineered for heavy-duty industrial applications. Constructed from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, it handles high flow rates, high solids loading, and continuous operation. Single or multi-bag configurations provide flexible capacity from small pilot systems to large industrial operations. For plant managers dealing with high-solids streams, bag filter housings deliver reliable performance with less maintenance.

Why Bag Filters for High-Solids Applications

Bag filters are fundamentally different from cartridge filters. A cartridge filter rolls media around a core, creating a relatively small filtration surface. A filter bag, on the other hand, is a simple open bag with a large surface area. This design difference has significant practical implications.

    High Dirt-Holding Capacity
The large surface area of a filter bag means contaminants are spread over a much wider area. The bag can hold a substantial amount of solids before the differential pressure becomes excessive. In high-solids applications, this translates directly to longer service life and fewer change-outs.

    Depth Loading
Filter bags capture particles throughout the thickness of the media. Larger particles are trapped near the surface, while finer particles penetrate deeper into the media. This depth loading mechanism provides high removal efficiency and extends service life.

    Higher Flow Rates
Because the surface area is large, a filter bag can handle higher flow rates than a cartridge filter of comparable size. A single bag filter can often replace multiple cartridge filters in the same application.

    Lower Operating Cost
Fewer change-outs mean lower labor costs and less consumable waste. While the initial cost of a bag filter housing may be higher than a cartridge housing, the total cost of ownership over time is often significantly lower.

    Simple Change-Out
Changing a filter bag is simple and quick. Open the housing, lift out the spent bag, drop in a new one, and close the housing. No tools are required for most designs. Minimal downtime means maximum production.

    How the System Works

The operational principle of the sanitary filter housing is similar to standard multi-cartridge housings, with significant enhancements for hygiene and cleanability.

    The Process Flow

    Step 1: Product Entry
The liquid product enters the housing through the sanitary inlet connection. The flow is distributed evenly across the multiple cartridges installed inside the vessel.

    Step 2: Filtration
The product passes through the filter cartridges. The cartridge media traps particles, microorganisms, and other contaminants based on the cartridge's micron rating. All surfaces in contact with the product are smooth and crevice-free.

    Step 3: Clean Product Collection
The filtered product passes through each cartridge core and is collected in the outlet manifold, exiting through the sanitary outlet connection.

    Step 4: Cartridge Retention
The filter cartridges are securely held in place by sanitary cartridge adaptors. Standard connections include 222 O-ring or 226 O-ring configurations with sanitary bayonet locking.

    Step 5: Sanitization and Cleaning
The housing is designed for Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Steam-in-Place (SIP) operations. Vent and drain ports allow complete drainage and sanitization without disassembly.

    Step 6: Maintenance Access
When required, the housing is opened via the hygienic clamp closure system. Cartridges can be replaced quickly without specialized tools, and all wetted surfaces are accessible for manual cleaning if needed.
