    Decanter centrifuge description

    A decanter centrifuge is a horizontal screw discharge sedimentation centrifuge that continuously separates solids from liquids using centrifugal force. The equipment consists of a rotating bowl, a screw conveyor, a differential speed system, a liquid level adjustment mechanism, and a drive and control system. The principle is simple yet highly effective: the feed mixture enters the rotating bowl, where centrifugal forces accelerate the settling of denser solid particles against the bowl wall, while the lighter liquid phase forms an inner layer. The screw conveyor, rotating at a slightly different speed, continuously transports the settled solids to the conical end for discharge, while the clarified liquid overflows at the opposite end.
