    A submersible mixer for sludge holding tanks and digesters is a specialized mixing device designed to handle the unique challenges of sludge storage and processing. Sludge is thick, abrasive, and prone to settling. Without proper mixing, solids accumulate at the tank bottom, causing storage capacity loss, inconsistent feed to dewatering equipment, and operational problems.

    DAGYEE sludge mixers are built with heavy-duty components to handle the demanding conditions of sludge applications. The high-torque design ensures reliable operation even with thick, viscous sludge. The mixer operates continuously or intermittently to maintain uniform sludge consistency throughout the tank.

    These mixers are essential for maintaining homogeneous sludge in holding tanks, blending different sludge streams, and providing uniform feed to dewatering equipment such as belt presses, centrifuges, and screw presses. Proper mixing also prevents the formation of floating scum layers and reduces odour issues.



    Submersible Mixers principle


    The Process Flow:

    Step 1: Submersion
    The mixer is fully submerged in the sludge, typically suspended from a guide rail system. The heavy-duty design ensures reliable operation in thick, abrasive sludge.

    Step 2: Low-Speed Rotation
    The high-torque motor drives the propeller at low speed, creating gentle but powerful flow that moves through the entire tank volume. The low speed minimizes shear on sludge flocs.

    Step 3: Flow Creation
    The rotating propeller draws sludge from the front and discharges it in a directed stream. The flow pattern is designed to lift settled solids from the tank bottom and circulate them throughout the tank.

    Step 4: Circulation
    The flow continues through the tank, preventing dead zones and ensuring uniform sludge consistency. The circulation pattern maintains solids in suspension and prevents stratification.

    Step 5: Homogenization
    The mixing action blends different sludge streams and maintains uniform solids concentration throughout the tank, ensuring consistent feed to dewatering equipment.

    Submersible Mixers Installation Method

    Step-by-Step Installation:

    1. Marking the Location
    The mounting position is marked on the tank wall, ensuring correct alignment and clearance.

    2. Installing Wall Brackets
    Wall brackets are bolted or welded to the tank wall at specified intervals.

    3. Mounting Guide Rails
    The guide rails are attached to the wall brackets and secured with bolts. The rails are aligned vertically and checked for plumb.

    4. Installing Floor Anchor
    The floor anchor is bolted to the tank floor or embedded in concrete.

    5. Attaching Guide Shoe
    The guide shoe is attached to the submersible mixer using the provided mounting hardware.

    6. Assembling Lifting System
    The lifting chain is attached to the mixer and threaded through the hoist above the tank.

    7. Installing Hoist
    The hoist is mounted above the tank on a support structure.

    8. Testing
    The mixer is lowered and raised along the guide rails to ensure smooth operation.
